a bit about my own Political History;
1- I'm a 2nd gen Canadian and an American in training.
2- I've belonged at one time to every Politcal Party in Canada
Liberal, PC, Reform and NDP
3- I think my basic leanings are more towards the old PC Party in Canada
... that no longer exists :(
4- AND... I'm absolutely fascinated by both the additional freedoms, complexities and incompetence's of my new home's management system.

---------A Brief History of Liberalism USA 2008------
Liberal Parties, as with most Political Parties in general, have one accented flaw that dooms all Libs to milk toast obscurity, irregardless of their name, whether;Whigs, Liberal Party, Democratic Party or the Left Footed Hoppers....
That Illness called IDEALISM.... Idealism in it's purest form leads to a directionless wandering quest in the burning desert of Realism, with it's guide stopping innocently and politely asking every other bearded Stranger with a Deer like gaze..."SANTA?"
As for the Idealistic Politician,
a- Conservative Idealists, like to pretend they are Santa Claus, and the owner of THE BAG
b- Liberals like to think they are the snooty little good boys and girls that can reach into Santa's bag any time they choose, thumbing past the huge arsenal of War Toys in, THE BAG
AND
c- The Socialist is the sooty nosed little brat who likes to play Robin Hood with Santa, but unlike that merry efficient little gang, The Socialist Kids keep most of the take for their own fat bottomed Gang of Bureaucratic Cats. In fact, if in Power long enough, they often walk away with the whole bag, ...never to be seen again...THE BAG that is ...NOT the Socialists... UN fortunately :(
As for the longevity of each.
The Conservative does best when Xmas sales are up and there's a FULL BAG, [ with more educational toys than war toys :) ]
The Socialist does best when they can resist becoming strong arm thugs treating anyone in the middle class with a decent savings account like a Millionaire Capitalista, and Acting more like the milk toast Idealists both they and the Liberals aspire to become. i.e. doing their best to keep their hands on their own bag, which they can only dream about for the most part.
AND, the Liberal [see Donkey see Democrat] does and says whatever they can to attain THE BAG, while making loads of promises with YOUR [never theirs'] money BUT, always having the excuse that they cannot deliver once in Power...AS... Santa either emptied, hid, lost or tied up DE BAG ... but they always find a means [TAX, program, plan, TAX, initiative, entitlement, TAX...] to finger their way into your little pretend bag :(
They never do well in the long run as they honestly believe that they ARE, the one and only
Idealists, the true leaders of the Doe Eyed Mob of Dopes, and we all know that the TRUE Socialists will never let them do that. It's DA Peoples' BAG .....ya right whatever...
SO, I sincerely believe that there is no better time than now, for the rise of Socialism in America.
Not as it is right for America, but as the time may soon be right for it. And it will be, very likely, a very sad day for the USA, when this occurs.
HENCE very simply...and alluding to the Title of my Liberal Little Story
... why the Liberal concept no matter how popular eventually must do the "Do over of Do Overs, for the Continuous MAKE Over" We're for the little guy...don't you know... although most Lib. Leaders either are or become self made Millionaires [and as Historically documented, more often by dubious mean$]... In any case for 2008, the Dinner placement has been set
for a new Socialist Concept by the ineptitude of America's Liberal Forces at play.
